Effect of gas flow retardation in the exhaust part of an arc-extinguisher blast system on arc parameters
Abstract
The expulsion of hot ionized air from the blast region of an air blast circuit breaker was investigated in an extinction system with single-ended longitudinal blast. The blast system of the arc-extinction chamber was also studied. It was concluded that (1) The character of complex gas dynamic processes taking place in a blast system can be investigated on a geometrical model of the system. (2) The deceleration of the gas flow in the exhaust part of the system has an effect on the parameters of the arc, and on the character of the variation of voltage and the voltage gradient in the arc.
