Evaluation of methods used to determine temperatures of convectively heated solid surfaces
Abstract
A survey of several explicit numerical methods for calculating the surface temperature of a one dimensional slab subjected to convective heating is presented. The surface conductance and all thermal properties are assumed to the constant. Graphical comparisons of numerical and exact solutions are presented. Some rules of nodal definition based on consistency requirements are established.
