Problems in producing highest energy densities by organic capacitor dielectrics
Abstract
The problems met when producing highest energy densities with organic dielectrics for capacitors are due to the necessity of microminiaturization. The most important physical tasks are the effect of high field strengths together with partial discharges (glow discharges), insulation behavior, self-healing, production of films, and moisture effects. The tests done in the field of self-healing capacitors lead to decisive results in the application of high field strengths in metallized organic dielectrics.
