Analysis of turbulent boundary layers
Abstract
The conservation equations for compressible turbulent flows are examined, taking into account the Navier-Stokes equations, the conventional time-averaging and mass-weighted-averaging procedures, energy equations, and Reynolds-stress transport equations. The boundary-layer equations are considered along with the general behavior of turbulent boundary layers, various approaches to the calculation of turbulent boundary layers, transport coefficients in turbulent boundary layers, and the Cebeci-Smith method.
