Estimating the response envelope of a digital matched filter
Abstract
Description of a method of estimating the response of a digital matched filter from the reaction of an ideal filter to a signal with amplitude and phase fluctuations caused by discretization noise. The proposed method is based on a calculation of the reaction of an ideal filter to a 'standard' signal multiplicatively mixed with an equivalent noise the statistical characteristics of which are obtained with the aid of a proven probability model.
