Simultaneous measurement of intensities and phase of Loran-C waves
Abstract
The intensities and phase of Loran-C (100 kHz) waves observed at Hiraiso exhibited several remarkable responses to unusually high solar activity early in August 1972. This paper presents outstanding SFA's (Sudden Field Anomalies) in the signal from four Loran-C transmitters encircling Hiraiso as well as corresponding SPA's (Sudden Phase Anomalies) in the Master (Iwojima) signal. The preliminary analysis of those records visualizes the transition of electron concentration in the D region in association with the solar X-ray bursts.
