Spin-orbit energy gap in cadmium
Abstract
A determination of the spin-orbit energy gap in cadmium is reported from a fit of calculated induced torque to measurements of induced torque showing magnetic breakdown. The energy gap is 0.023 eV assuming the Fermi velocity to be the free-electron Fermi velocity.
