Optimization of nonlinear periodic circuits
Abstract
Optimization algorithms for the design of nonlinear periodic circuits are developed. These algorithms require the appropriate combination of network simulation techniques and a performance function minimization strategy. Each algorithm is based upon a different definition of the set of designable parameters to be varied in the minimization of the performance function. In the first algorithm the parameter space consists only of the set of designable resistors, capacitors, and inductors in the network. In the second algorithm, the parameter space is made up of both these designable network parameters and the network initial conditions. Examples illustrate the application of these optimization algorithms to the design of forced nonlinear periodic circuits.
