The Cascade Process in TwoDimensional Fluids Driven by Periodic Forces.
Abstract
The energy cascade process through kspace is investigated by driving a fluid with special cases of periodic disturbances. The forced model equations for both the Quarter Plane (QP) and the Half Plane (HP) cases are solved. The driving vectors preclude feedback among the wave numbers of the QP lattice but permit feedback within wave numbers along one direction of the HP lattice in kspace. The physically relevant Full Plane (FP) case where feedback is present among all wave numbers of the two dimensional lattice in kspace is analyzed. A generalized scheme which represents a superposition of driving force of the QP, the HP, and the FP models is proposed.
