The equation of geodesic deviation in Newtonian theory and the oblateness of the earth
Abstract
In this paper we find periodic solutions to the equation of geodesic deviation for a circular orbit in the equatorial plane of the earth. We take into account the oblateness of the earth, and compare our results to the corresponding predictions of general relativity.
