Interferometrie mit interkontinentalen Basislängen: Stand der Experimente am 100-m-Radioteleskop
Abstract
A description is given of a 100-m radio telescope and activities in the area of very long baseline interferometry (VLBI). The objective of the currently conducted experiments is the determination of the structure of compact radio sources in radio galaxies and quasars, taking into account also temporal changes of this structure. The customary observational wavelengths for the extragalactic VLBI measurements are 13 cm, 6 cm, and 2.8 cm. Aspects regarding the VLBI system and its instruments are discussed along with the measurement parameters, system limitations, and details concerning the present investigation.
