Antenna techniques for space systems
Abstract
Attention is only given to the antenna as a transmitting device. Analytical techniques for the study of radiation from antennas are based on the solution of the wave equation. In one method of analysis, usually employed for antennas having discrete elements, the solution is obtained with the aid of intermediary potential functions. Another method uses spherical harmonics. In a third method the radiation field is obtained by integration of the scalar wave equation. A number of typical antenna systems are discussed.
