Shaped-beam horn-reflector antenna for domestic communication satellite
Abstract
For Japan's initial domestic satellite communication system, consideration is being given to the use of the 20- and 30-GHz bands for coverage of the Japanese main islands and to the 4- and 6-GHz bands for coverage of the entire nation, including remote islands. This paper reports the results of electrical model tests on a high-gain shaped-beam horn-reflector antenna for the communication function and on nondirectional telemetry and command antennas. The high-gain directional antenna consists of a reflector and a multi-band common filter. The measured electrical characteristics were found to match the computed performance quite well.
