The grade of service in multiple-access satellite communications systems with demand assignments
Abstract
The investigation conducted is concerned with extensions of the analytic methods used for obtaining the blocking probability on dedicated circuits to power-limited and bandwidth-linked demand-assignment systems. Questions of system configuration are considered along with the grade of service in telephony networks with permanently assigned trunks. Aspects regarding the grade of service for demand assignment on power-limited satellite links are also explored, taking into account blocked calls held and rerouted in a fully variable demand-assignment system.
