Radar observations of the IMP-6 spacecraft at very long range.
Abstract
On February 12, 1974, the spacecraft IMP-6 at a distance of 140,000 km was detected with a radar operating at 430 MHz. Relevant radar parameters are considered, giving attention to an average transmitted power of 50 kW, a nominal antenna gain of 56 dB, a pulse repetition frequency of 20 pulses/sec, and a pulse length of 1 msec.
