Cosmological coincidence
Abstract
Consideration of the physical meaning of numerical estimates of certain dimensionless quantities combined with fundamental constants of microphysics, macrophysics, and astronomy. In particular, a study is made of three dimensionless numbers representing, respectively, the ratio of the electrical force between electrons and protons to the gravitational force between them, the ratio of the characteristic length of the universe to the characteristic dimension of an elementary particle, and the ratio of the characteristic mass of the universe to the mass of a proton. Particular attention is paid to the fact that the likelihood of random estimates between these numbers, which are of the order of 10 to the 40th power, is very small.
