Hall effect analog device for impedance measurement
Abstract
An electronic device for direct measurement of resistance, reactance and impedance using two Hall-multipliers, a phase shifter, modulator and Hall effect analog divider is described. The output voltage is proportional to the impedance component, measured with polarity determined by the sign of the reactance. The principle of operation and the performance of the device are discussed. An investigation of the possible errors is included. Experimental results for impedance measurement within the range 1 to 1,000 ohms are presented.
