Solid solutions in the system Sb2S3-Sb2Te3
Abstract
The results of differential thermal analysis, X-ray phase analysis, microstructural analysis, and microhardness tests carried out on solid solutions of the semiconductor compounds Sb2S3 and Sb2Te3 are summarized and discussed. A diagram of the condensed state of the Sb2S3-Sb2Te3 system was obtained, in which two liquidus lines are found, corresponding to the crystallization of solid solutions based on Sb2Te3 and Sb2S3. Elementary tellurium was found in insignificant amounts in annealed alloys containing 0-25 mol.% Sb2S3. Deviation from stoichiometric composition was observed only in the region of 0-25 mol.% Sb2S3.
