Particle distributions in noctilucent clouds
Abstract
The atmospheric layer between 60 and 90 km, in which the noctilucent clouds are observed, was recently studied with the aid of rocket-carried instruments. The data concerning the aerosol particle distribution obtained were compared with earlier measurements in the stratospheric dust layer at a height of 25 km. A model of aerosol size distribution was computed on the basis of the results of the investigation.
