A Cauchy method for an integral equation of linearized Couette flow
Abstract
An integral equation investigated by Willis (1961, 1962), which plays a significant role in the theory of rarefied gasdynamics, is considered. An initialvalue procedure is developed for solving the problem and a numerical procedure for computing the obtained integrals is presented. The described computational scheme is used to solve the considered equation.
