2U 0900-40: a black hole?
Abstract
An analysis of the radial-velocity curve, spectrum, and reddening of HD 77581 indicates that its X-ray companion 2U 0900-40 has a mass >3 o. As this mass is greater than that currently accepted for neutron stars, the companion may be a black hole. Subject headings: binaries - black holes - stars, individual - X-ray sources
