Origin of alkali metals in the earth's atmosphere
Abstract
On the basis of the model for the equilibrium concentration of sodium in the earth's atmosphere recently developed by the author (Mitra, 1973), a comparative study of the atmospheric influx of the three alkali metals, namely, sodium, potassium, and lithium has been made. The present study further supports the view that these alkali metals in the earth's atmosphere are of extra-terrestrial origin.
