Coaxial magnetrons
Abstract
The design and the principles of operation of coaxial magnetrons are described, taking into account differences between coaxial and conventional magnetrons. Questions of mode instability are investigated and the operational characteristics of the coaxial magnetron are considered, giving attention to aspects of performance, the voltage-rise rate, and problems of temperature control. Technical data regarding the coaxial magnetrons produced by a German electronics company are listed in a table.
