A 408 MHz fan-beam survey at low galactic latitudes. I. The observations and a catalogue of small diameter sources.
Abstract
Using the east-west arm of the Bologna Northern Cross radio telescope, fully sampled observations have been made of an extensive region at low Galactic latitudes. The Galactic longitude range is 15" <1<245" with a latitude coverage of at least 7" at each longitude. The observations, their analysis, and the calibrations and errors of the survey, are fully discussed. A catalogue is given of 586 small diameter radio sources with measured flux densities above 1.2 x 1026 W Hz-'. Key words: Galactic plane, radiosources
