Infrared observations of HD 65750, a red giant in a reflection nebula.
Abstract
Summary. Photometric observations from .4 t to 18 t of the red giant HD 65750 in the reflection nebula IC 2220 reveal the presence of the silicate emission feature at 10 and 20 . The energy distribution of HD 65750 very closely resembles the Mira variables in the infrared as opposed to pre-main sequence objects. This similarity supports the suggestion that it is an evolved star losing mass perhaps in the process of forming a planetary nebula. Key words: infrared - reflection nebula - M giants
