Abstract
A crossbar matrix with two MOST and a photodiode per image point is described in an 8 x 8 matrix embodiment. Such matrices are characterized in static and dynamic regime. Parasitic phenomena due mainly to charge migration when the triggering MOST are acting are discussed. It is shown that for 64 x 64 matrices some layout modifications are required. The video line function should then be replaced by a metallic connection to reduce stray resistance and capacitance, the image point selection should be performed on the MOST not directly related with the photodiode, and the control connection capacitance should be reduced for increased access time and power consumption reduction on the column raster circuits. A transient response study for the MOST was performed together with a computerized simulation of the image point circuit performance.
