Study of the turbulent torque flow in a cylindrical model apparatus
Abstract
The torque flow field was studied in a cylindrical apparatus with differing inlet geometries. It is shown that velocity profiles and flow symmetries depend on the boundary conditions of the apparatus; tangential and axial flow profiles are determined by the radial field, respectively, the geometry of the apparatus.
