A carbon star in NGC 2477.
Abstract
A carbon star has been found to be a radial velocity member of the intermediate age cluster NGC 2477. Very red carbon stars appear to be frequent in such clusters but not in galactic globular clusters. This suggests the possibility that the Magellanic Cloud globular clusters with very red (carbon) stars are somewhat younger than typical galactic globular clusters.
