High resolution observations of NGC 7027 at 5 GHz.
Abstract
The planetary nebula NGC 7027 has been observed at a frequency of 5.0 GHz with arcsec resolution. The observed brightness distribution is consistent with emission from a thick cylindrical shell with its axis at 30 to the line-of-sight and having a uniform electron temperature and density of (13 +2)>c I0 K and ( o + o ) x I0 cm-3, respectively. The earlier interferometric measurement by Miley can be explained by this model without invoking a non-thermal component.
