Dispersion relation of a circular waveguide filled with an anisotropic plasma
Abstract
A cylindrical waveguide filled with an anisotropic plasma is analyzed in detail to clarify the nature of dispersion relations in regions that have not been studied before. Based on the analytical theory, a generalized study of the dispersion relations of various waves is presented. The relation between the wave number contour lines and dispersion curves is discussed and several numerical examples are presented to show this relation graphically. The theory is compared to the existing quasi-static theory. Results of the present study should be useful in the study of methods of exciting plasma waveguides.
