Upper Limits to the X-Ray Emission from β Persei during Radio Flares
Abstract
No X-rays attributable to Persei were detected in the energy range 0. 10 keV by the MIT X-ray detector on the OSO-7 during an 18-day observation in which numerous radio flares were reported. Upper limits on X-ray emission are established which indicate that the Hjellming model of thermal bremsstrahlung is untenable.
