High-speed photometry of AH Herculis.
Abstract
Righ-speed photometry of the dwarf nova AR Rer is presented. The observations were made during minimum light and at several points on the rising branch of eruptions. Power spectrum analysis revealed no periodicities in any of the light curves, showing that in AR Rer, as in CN Ori and Z Cam, the white-dwarf pulsations exist only at maximum light. The lack of visible pulsations on the rising branch puts doubt on those theories of the dwarf nova eruption which require such pulsation. The red spectrum of AR Rer is also described.
