A new helium-rich B-type star.
Abstract
Star No. 3378 in the catalog of Stephenson and Sanduleak, which lies near 1 = 329 , b = has been identified as a helium star. A description of the spectrum at 125 A mm-1 is given along with the radial velocity of the star and its apparent magnitude and colors on the UBV system. Radial-velodty measurements of the interstellar H and K lines set a lower lirnit of 1500 PC on the distance of the star, whereas the strengths of these lines indicate a lower lirnit of 5000 pc. These distances correspond to absolute magnitudes of Mv = -1.5 and Mv = -4, respectively. Subject headings: hydrogen-deficient stars photometry - stars, individual
