Spectra of the Becklin-Neugebauer point source and the Kleinmann-Low nebula from 2.8 to 13.5 microns.
Abstract
Spectra of the Becklin-Neugebauer point source and the Kleinmann-Low nebula complex have been obtained from 2.8 to 13.5 withAA/A 0.01 to 0.02. The spectrum of the point source shows strong absorption features at 3.1 and 10 M The feature at 3.1 corresponds well to that expected from 10- g of 1120 ice grains. The 10- absorption feature is similar in shape to the excess emission observed from several M stars and requires about 3-4 x 10- g cm -2 of silicate material to reproduce the depth of this feature. The Kleinmann-Low nebula also shows evidence of a strong absorption at 10 , possibly much stronger than that seen against the point source.
