Absolute ultraviolet spectrophotometry from the TD 1 satellite. I. Absorption features in the UV spectra of B stars.
Summary. A dozen strong absorption features are detected in the S 2/S 68 spectra of B type stars between 1350 and 2550 A. Tentative identifications are given for most of them as well as a discussion of their behaviour from star to star. In particular a broad blend around 1540 A is mainly due to C iv in early B stars whereas it is mostly due to Si II in late B stars. A broad absorption around 1940 A appearing in a few stars is described. Key words: ultraviolet spectrophotometry - B stars - absorption lines
