Secular Stability. V. The Perturbation of Chemical Abundances
Abstract
Summary. Calculations of the secular stability of stars near the main sequence have been modified to include perturbations of chemical abundances. It is found that these perturbations give rise to an additional spectrum which appears to be continuous. The usual secular spectrum is practically unchanged from the one obtained when abundance perturbations are neglected. Key words: secular stability - chemical abundances - stellar evolution
