Spin state equilibria and the semiconductor to metal transition of LaCoO-3
Abstract
Neutron diffraction, data and electrical conductivity measurements were used to study first-order localized to itinerant electron phase transition of LaCoO3 near 1210 K. A broad higher-order semiconductor to metal transition was observed between approximately 520 K and 750 K. These data simplify possible interpretations of the electronic behavior of LaCoO3.
