Conformal Symmetry and Single-Meson Production

The results of combining conformal invariance and chiral symmetry are given for the process πN-->ππN. It is shown that if the symmetries are broken spontaneously the data are insufficient to determine the scale of the breaking term. The ππ scattering lengths remain small although both a₀ and a₂ are altered substantially.
