Single π+ Electroproduction at w~2 GeV and the Pion Form Factor
Abstract
Recently published data on ep-->enπ+ near w=2 GeV and 0.0<|k2|<1.0 GeV2 are investigated using (i) the model-independent Chew-Low extrapolation technique and (ii) fixed-t dispersion relations. The data are not accurate enough to allow the Chew-Low fit to give an unambiguous determination of Fπ. Using fixed-t dispersion relations we obtain Fπ(k2)=1(1- k20.5 GeV2). The effect of resonances other than the P33 is small.
