Adiabatic Magnetization of MnBr2.4H2O
Abstract
The adiabatic variation of temperature with applied magnetic field has been determined for a polycrystalline sample of MnBr2.4H2O in the liquid-helium region with applied magnetic fields up to 15 kG. The variation of (∂T∂H)S vs T at constant applied field is reported. A method of utilizing these data to determine the salient features of the magnetic "phase" diagram corresponding to a single-crystal sample is discussed and a comparison of these results with existing single-crystal data is presented.
