CoherentPotential Approximation for Disordered Ferromagnetic Binary Alloys
Abstract
The magnetic properties of spin 1/2 Heisenberg ferromagnetic alloys are calculated. We calculate the spinwave Green's function in the randomphase approximation and treat the disordered compositiondependent exchange interaction in a coherentpotential approximation (CPA). In the weakscattering limit, the CPA reproduces the result of the meanfield theory as expected, and in the strongscattering limit, the CPA predicts such properties as critical concentration, which is beyond the scope of the meanfield theory.
