Divergence cancellations in a simplified weak interaction model
Abstract
The divergence structure of a simplified (abelian) model of weak interactions is examined in low orders of perturbation theory. The model utilizes the Higgs mechanism of spontaneous violation of local gauge symmetry to generate a vector meson mass. We find that the only divergences of on-mass-shell S-matrix elements are those corresponding to conventional renormalization effects.
