Discharges Guided by Laser-Induced Rarefaction Channels
Abstract
Preliminary experiments demonstrating the channeling and guidance of an electrical breakdown streamer via a laser-induced rarefaction channel are reported. The ability of this phenomenon to extend the range of a given spark is also demonstrated.
