A new photoproduction model in field theory
Abstract
An explicitly gaugeinvariant fieldtheory model for pion photoproduction is investigated. There is an infinity of contributing higherorder Feynman diagrams which are summed to the closed form of a modified pion and nucleon exchange. The altered πexchange has the form of a relativistic absorption model and takes formfactor corrections at the nucleon vertex into account. The necessary modification of the nucleon pole to insure gauge invariance resembles a relativistic eikonal form.
