Analytical solution of the statistical bootstrap model
Abstract
We investigate the bootstrap for the hadronic mass spectrum which has been proposed by Hagedorn and Frautschi. Its solutions are determined for different requirements on the similarity of the input and the output spectrum. Sum rules are derived which relate the asymptotic parameters of the spectrum, especially the maximal temperature, to its low mass part. The agreement with experiment is good, if exotics are excluded.
