Transient acoustic scattering by a free (pressure release) sphere
Abstract
The transient scattering of plane and spherical waves by a pressure release spherical surface is studied by means of a Kirchhoff integral equation formulation. Numerical values are obtained for the normal velocities on the scattering surface and are compared to those obtained by modal solutions. An improvement in early time response is seen.
