Spectrographic and photometric observations of supergiants and foreground stars, in the direction of the Large Magellanic Cloud.

UBV photometrv and slit spectra of intermediate dispersion (74 A mm-') have been obtained at La Silla for 409 stars belonging to the Large Magellanic Cloud (Part I of catalogue), for 42 possible LMC members (Part 2 of catalogue) and for 132 galactic foreground stars (Part 3 of catalogue) among which 19 have high radial velocities. The stars have been selected at the Marseille Observatory from plates taken with the objective-prism radial velocity astrograph of the European Southern Observatory. V magnitudes, (B - V) and (U-B) colour indices, MK spectral types and radial velocities are presented. Remarks are given concerning the positions, spectral types, magnitudes and colours.
