Gravitational Radiation from Colliding Black Holes
Abstract
It is shown that there is an upper bound to the energy of the gravitational radiation emitted when one collapsed object captures another. In the case of two objects with equal masses m and zero intrinsic angular momenta, this upper bound is (2-√(2))m.
