Distribution of the Spins of the Resonances in the DualResonance Model
Abstract
We use quantumstatistical mechanics to calculate the distribution of the spins of the resonances in the dualresonance model at a fixed high energy squared (s). The resonances are concentrated in the region of spin <~s, with the distribution eventually falling off exponentially. The profile function of the Veneziano partialwave amplitudes is mainly controlled by the spin distribution of the resonances, and not by their individual couplings. This spin distribution is largely similar to that in the statistical model of nuclei.
