Evidence for a “singularity” in the nuclear rotational band structure
Abstract
A drastic change in the moment of inertia as a function of the rotational frequency is observed in the region of I ≈ 16 for the deformed nucleus 160Dy. This may be interpreted as a phase transition from a superfluid state to a non-superfluid state.
